Job Description

Job Description Summary :
The duties of the Registered (Pediatric) Dietician include monitoring and supporting health of children and teens with autism spectrum disorders. Dietician will work with a multidisciplinary team including a Behavior Analyst, direct care staff, family members and other caregivers to plan menus, incorporating balanced diets supporting healthy nourishment and create and implement feeding interventions designed to support the consumption of healthy nourishment. They also counsel children and families on healthful eating and basic nutrition. Dietician provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. Dietician demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. Dietician will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Registered (Pediatric) Dietician reports to the Behavior Analyst in charge of the feeding clinic program.
Responsibilities:
Conduct nutrition assessments. Design nutrition interventions. Serve as nutrition team coordinator. Provision of nutritional therapy. Parent training as directed by Clinical Director. Completing billing forms/documentation as required. Provision of services in both clinical and home setting. Perform all duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Normal direct care environment. Typical physical demands include prolonged setting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to assist students in day-to-day routine. TB test upon hire.
