Dietitian Full Time St. Louis, MO, US Join Us to Build Healing and Hope Together! The partnership includes a 77-bed acute care hospital and outpatient programs. Located on the KVC Missouri Children's Mental Wellness Campus conveniently located in Webster Groves, Missouri, the peaceful environment and broad continuum of care allow children and families to access the appropriate level of treatment throughout their healing experience. Job Summary Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards. Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients and will follow-up with patients to ensure adequate understanding of the instructions and for the effectiveness of the
Nutrition Therapy Major Duties:
Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, or veteran status Shall provide dietary consultations for clients referred by the physician within a maximum of 2 business days. Communicate with multidisciplinary team as appropriate Modify menus to accommodate individual diet restriction and obtain items as needed Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to training, nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards Provide quarterly house menu audits Remain appropriately licensed in the State of Kansas and Missouri while employed by KVC Coordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus for independent food service operations If needed, advise clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation
Programming:
Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life Develop policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control Inspect meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance Work Hospital Leadership to purchase food in accordance with health and safety codes Shall apply for professional staff privileges at the Hospital and become and remain an active member of the professional staff of the Hospital Shall actively participate in the Hospital's overall client care evaluation program and assist Hospital in the performance of utilization review and cost containment functions Attend DESE trainings, forms, reports as required by DESE for meal reimbursement, etc. Work with catering service to ensure meal reimbursement requirements are being met and documentation is complete if applicable to site
Minimum Requirements Education:
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Licensure/Certification:
Missouri, Kansas License and registrations with the CDR. Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Experience:
One to two years of dietary experience.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Master's degree preferred.
