Essential Qualifications:
Conduct nutritional assessments of patients' health, lifestyle, and dietary needs. Develop customized meal plans and provide education on healthy eating habits. Counsel patients on nutrition issues, including food allergies, intolerances, and specific health conditions. Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on patient care. Keep detailed electronic health records and administrative files. Stay up-to-date on nutrition research and best practices. May deliver public speaking engagements, workshops, and community outreach programs.
The Ideal Candidate:
A bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field is typically required. Passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required to become a Registered Dietitian (RD)and Mississippi state licensure. Other Qualifications Must possess the following skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Empathy and sensitivity. Attention to detail.
