Job Description

At Skyterra Young Adult , we believe that sustainable wellness begins in the kitchen and on your plate. Our Nutrition and Culinary pillars are designed to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and real-world application, empowering young adults to move away from processed convenience towards sustainable culinary independence. On our campus, this isn't just a lecture series; it is an immersive, tactile experience where students engage with food from the ground up. Whether they are harvesting seasonal ingredients or mastering knife skills under the guidance of our chefs, our guests learn that "food as fuel" can also be food as a "creative outlet." The work on our campus focuses on three core areas:
Culinary Literacy:
Mastering foundational cooking techniques, meal planning, and kitchen safety.
Nutritional Education:
Understanding the physiological impact of whole foods and how to balance macros for sustained energy and mental clarity.
Mindful Eating:
Developing a healthy, intuitive relationship with food that moves past restrictive dieting or emotional eating. By integrating these habits into their daily campus life, our guests don't just "learn" about health, they build the confidence to sustain it long after they leave our community. If you are passionate about mentoring this specific population and are looking for a flexible role, this position is ideal for those seeking impactful part-time to possibly full-time work. Responsibilities Conduct individual nutrition consultations, including initial assessments and formulation of student goals. Partner with the Chef to support the Skyterra nutrition plan. Work with the Executive and Clinical Directors in developing/maintaining a menu plan with a 3-4 week rotation. Support students who may have nutrition deficiencies and disordered eating. Conduct group culinary and nutrition discussions and classes with students. Facilitate and assist in hands-on cooking demonstrations, as guided by culinary and nutrition curriculum. Collaborate with the clinical and senior leadership teams to ensure Guests are supported and directed appropriately in independence and skill development in all facets of life.
