DIETICIAN- Glenaire The Registered Dietician's role at Glenaire will assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans. They will also provide nutritional counseling and education support to individuals and community groups, as well as communicate with appropriate health care providers regarding dietary modifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advise residents and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. Coordinate diet counseling services. Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client. Plan, conduct, and evaluate dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research. Plan and conduct training programs in dietetics, nutrition, and institutional management and administration for medical students, health-care personnel and the general public. Make recommendations regarding public policy, such as nutrition labeling, food fortification, and nutrition standards. Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
B.S. Degree in Dietetics or related field of study, credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Qualifications:
Possesses necessary skills to effectively operate computer-based systems, which manage patient-care records; knowledge of computational practices; ServSafe® certified desirable. Why Us?
