Job Description
What We Offer Novant Health Cancer Institute is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Registered Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary oncology team. In this role, you will provide nutrition assessments, medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to oncology patients through in-person, telephone, and virtual visits. You will develop individualized nutrition care plans, support disease management, and promote positive behavior change and support patients throughout their journey. The Registered Dietitian will collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary team members, maintain timely documentation, and provide ongoing follow-up care to support patients throughout their cancer journey.

What You'll Do Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients. Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on medical history, risk factors, laboratory values, and patient goals. Provide medical nutrition therapy for cancer survivors that may include conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, obesity, and other disease. Educate patients and their families on nutrition intake to support patients in treatment and beyond.
What We're Looking For Education :
Bachelor's Degree in dietetics, nutrition, foods and nutrition, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Clinical Dietitian, preferred.
Licensure/Certification :
Registered Dietitian status by the commission on Dietetic Registration, required. Licensed Dietitian in appropriate state, required. Additional skills required : Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge, ability and skills to support patient education and patient engagement in self-care management to accommodate cultural diversity, age specific or behavior needs among the patients being served.
Additional skills preferred:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to relay information to diverse audiences for one-on-one consultations, small and large group presentations; dynamic presence for media interviews, health fairs and other invited presentations/appearances.
