Shift:
First Shift (United States of America) Nutrition Therapist Trainee Serve as a liaison between Nutrition Therapists or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and within patient food and nutrition services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Assist in the maintenance of nutrition inventory and records of distribution. Perform duties relevant to clinical nutrition operations, support following established policies and procedures. Perform accurate and reliable completion of designated responsibilities which affects the overall accuracy, reliability, and acceptability of the department services. Provide excellent customer service and patient care in accordance with assigned duties under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Duties:
Nutrition Therapist Trainee Serve as a liaison between Nutrition Therapists or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and within patient food and nutrition services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Assist in the maintenance of nutrition inventory and records of distribution. Perform duties relevant to clinical nutrition operations, support following established policies and procedures. Required Qualifications:
Nutrition Therapist Trainee Bachelor's degree granted by a US regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent. Current enrollment or completion of required nutrition and dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program in Dietetics, or Future Graduate Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required. Knowledge and application of Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) required. Clear and consistent written and verbal communication required. Proficient use of technology and its applications, including word processing, nutrient analysis, spreadsheet software required. Critical thinking to integrate facts, informed opinions, active listening and observation required. Analysis of information to identify implications, develop solutions and conclusions and evaluate each alternative to make sound decisions based on appropriate data required. Service excellence and patient centered care required. Interpersonal skills (respect, honesty, fairness, positive attitude toward colleagues and customers) required. Focus on customer satisfaction when working with patients, families, coworkers, other departments, physicians/ providers, and the community required. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required within 6 months required . Licensed as a Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services required within 6 months required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nutrition Therapist Trainee Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred. Master's degree in nutrition and dietetics or related area granted by a US regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent preferred. Knowledge and application of Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) preferred. Knowledge of the systematic and efficient integration of the current technologies into the clinical nutrition practice to improve the care of the patient preferred. Prioritize and handle multiple tasks preferred. Good mathematical skills are necessary to properly carry out complex division and multiplication problems using a hand-held calculator preferred. Maintain basic knowledge related to meeting age specific needs of the patient population served within the scope of this job description preferred. Experience with typical office equipment (e.g., computers, calculators, phones, pages, fax machines, hand held scanners) preferred. Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
