Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Director to lead our dietary services team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of nutrition, dietetics, and management principles, with a focus on enhancing resident care and operational efficiency. As the Dietary Director, you will oversee all aspects of dietary operations, including menu planning, staff supervision, compliance with health regulations, and budget management. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality nutritional services tailored to the needs of our residents or patients. Responsibilities Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus aligned with dietary guidelines and individual care plans. Supervise and mentor dietary staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment. Conduct patient assessments to determine specific nutritional needs and modify care plans accordingly. Oversee tube feeding procedures and ensure proper handling, safety protocols, and documentation. Perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition status and adjust dietary interventions as needed. Manage the dietary department's budget, including purchasing, inventory control, and cost analysis to optimize resources. Collaborate with healthcare teams to create personalized care plans that incorporate dietary considerations for various health conditions. Ensure compliance with all health regulations, safety standards, and sanitation practices within the dietary department. Provide health coaching to residents or patients to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. Supervise the training of staff in physiology knowledge, nutrition principles, and specialized feeding techniques. Skills Extensive experience in assisted living facilities or healthcare settings with a focus on patient-centered nutrition services. Strong knowledge of dietetics, physiology, and clinical nutrition practices. Proven leadership skills with supervisory experience in dietary or healthcare departments. Expertise in managing care plans that include tube feeding, diagnostic evaluation, and specialized diets. Competence in budgeting, inventory management, and resource allocation within a dietary department. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals and residents or patients. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and adapt nutritional strategies accordingly. Familiarity with health coaching techniques to support lifestyle modifications for improved health outcomes.
