Job Description

Eklego is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join a team of nursing professionals working full time days in a direct-hire position at a highly respected and established organization in the Rochester, NY area. This role will join a customer-focused team and have the privilege to work with individuals with Development Disabilities. This direct hire opportunity offers:

The Registered Dietitian will determine appropriate nutrition for the residents in all levels of care while complying with nutritional standards, government regulations and internal procedures. What will I do? Assess nutritional needs, develop and implement nutrition programs when needed, and evaluate and report the results. Confer with registered nurses to coordinate medical and nutritional needs. Provide tools for individuals and direct support staff on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. To complete necessary documentation including assessments and progress notes as needed by referral from RN, ML, or physician. To maintain communication with individual's guardians, RN, staff, and Director of Nursing. To collaborate with team members and follow up on recommendations agreed to by dietitians. To provide tools and/or in-servicing for staff in the areas of nutrition, diabetes, and safety and sanitation. Attending meetings as deemed necessary, as well as discipline specific meetings (i.e. ISP's, case studies, person specific meetings). To participate in agency functions and various community meetings as requested. May provide supervision and education services to local college dietitian students as approved by Director of Nursing What do I need for this role? Must have a B.S. level degree in Nutrition or higher and a New York State license. Prior experience with developmental disabilities is preferable. Valid driver's license that is in compliance with client's motor vehicle record standards, and reliable transportation to and from work.
