Registered Dietitian (Interim)

The Registered Dietitian assists residents at Meadows in making the most appropriate nutrition choices to manage symptoms and prevent or treat comorbidities. Responsibilities The Registered Dietitian assesses each resident to determine if their diet contributes to symptoms and comorbidities.

Key responsibilities include:

Assesses the nutritional needs of residents Develops and evaluates regular and therapeutic diets to meet the specialized needs of residents Develops and implements person centered education programs involving food and nutrition services for all facility staff Participates in the budget process and the purchasing of food and supplies, food preparation, service and storage Participates in the quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) when food and nutrition services are involved Through observations and interviews determine if there are sufficient support personnel to safely and effectively carry out the meal preparation and other food and nutrition services as defined by facility management Other duties as assigned Education Requirements Holds a bachelor's or higher degree in nutrition or dietetics Has completed at least 900 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a registered dietitian or nutrition professional Is licensed or certified as a dietitian or nutrition professional by New York State Professional Requirements Complete annual education requirements. Maintains standards of professional society procedures and ethical behavior. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Attend committee and management meetings as appropriate. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
