  • Full-time weekend/holiday rotations Job Description Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a nutritional care plan for hospital patients in accordance with established hospital and departmental standards.
Job Responsibility 1.Interviews and assesses nutritional status of patients according to department policy and in conjunction with Physician's orders. 2.Formulates patient nutritional plan with reasonable and measurable goals based on nutritional issues presented. 3.Counsels and educates patients and their families on proper nutritional care. 4.Maintains documentation of patient care provided. 5.Educates clinical team members on proper nutritional care. May develop and conduct training classes for related health care team members, as assigned. 6.Conducts periodic meal rounds to determine adequacy of nutritional intake and assess adequacy/acceptability of meals and interactions. 7.Reassesses patient and revises nutritional care plan and goals, as needed. 8.Assists management in identifying performance improvement opportunities and establishing quality assurance monitors and thresholds. Tracks performance improvement indicators and progress of action plans, as assigned. 9.Participates in the development/modification of Nutrition Care Practice Guidelines. 10.Assists in coordinating dietary staff and diet office activities. Provides guidance and training to dietary technicians, clerks, and related team members, as needed. 11.Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures. 12.Communicates effectively with related healthcare team members to ensure achievement of departmental goals. May serve on related hospital committees, as assigned. 13.Actively pursues continuing education and personal development programs to maintain knowledge base and registration. 14.Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification Master's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or equivalent combination of education and related experience, required.

Current Registered Dietitian Certification with the Commissions on Dietetic Registration, required.

Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, preferred.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, required.
