Overview of Team The WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) team is committed to supporting the health and well-being of pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five through nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and access to healthy foods and community resources. The team delivers participant-centered services designed to promote positive nutrition, healthy growth, and overall family wellness.
Position Summary:
CEO is currently looking for nutritionists to serve as frontline public health professionals that combine nutrition expertise, counseling skills, and program administration to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Verify participant eligibility, conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, determine nutrition risk status, and enroll eligible participants in the program. Develop, implement, monitor, and document individualized high-risk nutrition care plans, providing ongoing oversight and follow-up for participants identified as high risk. Conduct breastfeeding assessments and provide participant-centered education, counseling, and support to promote breastfeeding success and address common breastfeeding concerns. Complete and maintain accurate documentation and data entry within established timeframes, including eligibility records, nutrition services, referrals, participant outcomes, and follow-up activities. Prescribe, tailor, authorize, issue, and reissue food packages in accordance with program regulations, funding source requirements, and established guidelines. Review and evaluate formula requests requiring medical documentation and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate authorization and participant care. Ensure compliance with all WIC program requirements, as well as local agency policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Obtain anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin screenings for participants as required, following established protocols and OSHA health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with internal and external partners to support participant needs and facilitate appropriate referrals to health and community resources. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Valid driver's license Demonstrates professionalism, respect for others, and the ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations. Works collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive work environment and supporting organizational success. Communicates effectively through both verbal and written methods with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
