40 Position Overview We are seeking a qualified Inpatient Dietitian to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition assessments across a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care, reducing length of stay, and supporting overall health and recovery. Key Responsibilities Clinical Nutrition & Patient Care Perform nutrition assessments and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Evaluate nutritional status using screening tools, including the Malnutrition Screening Tool (MST) Identify, diagnose, and manage malnutrition Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust interventions as needed Nutrition Orders & Interventions Utilize established protocols to: Initiate or modify diet orders Recommend nutrition supplements and dietary modifications Adjust diet textures based on patient needs and preferences Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families Nutrition Support Management Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies , including: Formula selection and rate adjustments Monitoring lab values and nutritional response Recommending supplements, medications, and hydration adjustments Collaboration & Documentation Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care Quality & Compliance Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives Contribute to process improvements and patient care outcomes Attend departmental meetings, staff development sessions, and professional programs Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in inpatient or critical care settings Experience with pediatric nutrition preferred CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) certification preferred Key Skills Strong clinical nutrition assessment and critical thinking skills Knowledge of nutrition support therapies (enteral and parenteral) Effective communication and patient education abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment Summary This role is ideal for an experienced dietitian who is passionate about delivering high-quality clinical nutrition care in an inpatient setting, improving patient outcomes, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
