GI & Hepatology Clinic Registered Dietitian Ohio Gastro - 2.5 Columbus, OH Job Details 22 hours ago Qualifications Dietetics Registered Dietitian Full Job Description Scope of responsibilities and accountability: Collaborate with GI and hepatology providers and staff to support nutritional aspects of patient care and clinical operations Serve as liaison between OhioGastro nutrition services and external specialty program(s) Practice within the scope of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and company policies Monitor and support nutrition-related workflows, including patient education and follow-up Provide education and training to support staff on GI and liver-specific nutrition topic Maintain clinical staff competencies related to nutrition education and dietary protocols Assist physicians and leadership with GI and hepatology-related nutrition projects Deliver nutrition counseling via telehealth platforms, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care Support and manage patients enrolled in retail weight management programs, including goal setting, progress tracking, and behavioral coaching Participate in quality improvement programs Major activities and essential job functions: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with GI and liver conditions such as IBD, IBS, celiac disease, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, and hepatitis Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on clinical data and patient needs Educate patients and caregivers on dietary management of GI symptoms, liver disease progression, and transplant preparation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care planning Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans based on labs, symptoms, and treatment goals Provide virtual nutrition consultations and follow-ups through secure telehealth platforms Manage weight loss and lifestyle modification programs in a retail setting, including product education and nutrition coaching Support physician practice through timely documentation and communication Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned

Support colleagues with cross-functional tasks Maintain HIPAA compliance Attend mandatory meetings and professional development sessions Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Effective time management and prioritization Team-oriented with multidisciplinary collaboration skills Proficient in EMR, telehealth platforms, and nutrition documentation systems Familiarity with retail nutrition services and weight management strategies is a plus
Credentials and Experience Education:
Bachelor's Degree or (preferred) Master's Degree in Nutrition of Dietetics from an ACEND-accredited program
Experience:
2+ years of clinical nutrition experience. Preferred in gastroenterology, hepatology, transplant nutrition, telehealth, and weight management
Licensure:
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Hold Certification/License in good standing in the State of Ohio Special Requirements Flexibility to adapt to clinic, telehealth, and retail environments Willingness to cross-train and support other roles Participation in ongoing professional development Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting Bending, stooping, keyboard use Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally Effective communication in-person, phone, and writing Work Environment Medical office with direct patient interaction Fast-paced, collaborative clinical setting Telehealth and retail environments Potential exposure to infectious diseases On-going job expectations & competency Maintain CEUs for licensure and RDN credential Orient to new equipment Maintain annual fire safety/general safety training Maintain HIPAA and nutrition-specific compliance standards Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
