8:00 am•5:00pm, Monday•Friday Your role with us Make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients by helping them build healthier habits and achieve their wellness goals through personalized nutrition care. As a registered dietitian, assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition plans and provide medical nutrition therapy tailored to each patient's health conditions, lifestyle and learning needs. Partner closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support positive health outcomes across a diverse outpatient population. Use evidence-based nutrition principles to educate and empower patients while helping them navigate lifestyle changes with confidence and compassion. Beyond direct patient care, contribute to staff education, mentor emerging nutrition professionals and participate in Lean improvement initiatives that strengthen the quality of care delivered throughout the organization. What you'll do Assess patients' nutritional status, dietary habits, medications and other factors that influence health outcomes. Provide medical nutrition therapy tailored to each patient's age, medical condition, learning needs and individualized goals. Develop personalized nutrition plans using evidence-based practices and collaborate with patients to establish achievable wellness objectives. Deliver nutrition education using a variety of teaching methods and resources to support understanding and long-term success. Coordinate referrals to appropriate providers, programs and support services to address patient needs comprehensively. Document assessments, interventions and outcomes using the Nutrition Care Process and established clinical standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Provide education and in-service training to clinical, nutrition and support staff as requested. Support the orientation and development of new dietitians, dietetic technicians, dietetic interns and other team members. Lead or participate in Lean quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care, operational efficiency and clinical outcomes. Required qualifications Bachelor Degree•Completion of a Bachelor's Degree (if RD credential acquired before 01/01/2024) or Master's Degree (if RD credential acquired after 01/01/2024) satisfying the requirements of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or Foreign Dietitian Education Program as approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Completion of a Dietetic Internship (or individualized supervised practice program, coordinated program, or foreign equivalent) approved by ACEND. Registered Dietitian•Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics within six months of hire. Licensed Dietitian•Licensed to practice in the State of Oregon or be able to obtain licensure within six months of hire. Additional information Experience providing medical nutrition therapy in an acute care hospital or facility preferred. Experience providing, managing, coordinating or supervising patient nutrition care in an outpatient facility, and/or with bariatric patients preferred.
