JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Dietitian engages with members in-person, virtually, or telephonically to offer medical nutrition therapy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Conduct nutrition assessments for members to identify specific nutritional needs and coordinate nutrition care, including diet modification, meal planning, and healthy lifestyle counseling. Provide nutrition therapy based on evidence based standards of practice, taking into consideration the member's individual needs, including medical history, nutrient requirements, knowledge and abilities, and economic and social situations. Counsel individuals and groups on overall good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition management of diseases to improve their quality of life. Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate the nutritional care of members. Document all nutrition assessments, interventions and plans in EMR according to facility protocol. Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assist on committees and utilize expertise as needed for company initiatives. Demonstrate professional writing skills adaptable to all health literacy levels in preparing materials, presentations and other communications. Demonstrates commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Creates an environment that is motivating, safe, supportive, non-competitive, and non-judgmental for members and employees. May be required to work outside of "regular" working hours to accommodate client schedules.
Requirements:
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrates knowledge of basic health, nutrition, and fitness principles Ability to apply the principles of behavior change and group facilitation in coaching situations Demonstrates ability to multitask, provide clear attention to detail, and maintain records. Ability to work with diverse groups of people of varying ages, ethnicities, life experience, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and internet navigation. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent critical thinking skills Demonstrates ability to work autonomously Demonstrates professionalism and tact at all times. Displays enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Understands and adheres to client confidentiality. Thrives in a team environment, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced atmosphere Displays flexibility and shows initiative.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher with a focus in nutrition or equivalent. Master's preferred. Current Commission on Dietetics (CDR) registration. State Licensure for practicing state
EXPERIENCE
1-2 years experience in a clinical setting. Familiar with chronic disease management and medical nutrition therapy. Comfortable with group and individual counseling. Experience in community settings.
