Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs. Provide expert guidance on specialized nutrition interventions such as tube feeding, weight management, and dietary modifications for chronic conditions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring nutritional strategies support overall treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on nutrition principles, lifestyle changes, and health coaching techniques to foster long-term wellness. Monitor patient progress through regular evaluations, adjusting care plans as necessary based on diagnostic evaluations and clinical response. Document all interventions accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems and maintain detailed records of patient interactions. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles applicable to diverse populations including geriatrics and acute care patients. Experience supervising dietetic staff or interns, demonstrating leadership in a clinical setting. Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and patient tracking. Expertise in managing dietary needs related to tube feeding, weight loss programs, and specialized diets for chronic illnesses. Familiarity with hospital protocols, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and care planning processes. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate health coaching abilities to motivate positive lifestyle changes.
