Job Title:
Dietician/Nutritionist Responsibilities:
The dietician/nutritionist will work directly with patients to develop personalized nutrition plans, provide ongoing support and guidance, and help them achieve their weight loss goals in a safe and sustainable manner.
Job Duties:
Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to understand patients' medical history, dietary habits, lifestyle factors, and weight loss goals. Develop individualized meal plans that are tailored to patients' preferences, cultural backgrounds, and any existing dietary restrictions. Educate patients on healthy eating principles, portion control, mindful eating habits, and the importance of balanced nutrition. Motivate and empower patients to make sustainable changes to their diet and lifestyle. Monitor patients' progress, track key metrics, and adjust plans as needed. Provide ongoing support and address any challenges or questions patients may have throughout the program. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in patients' care. Participate in program development and improvement initiatives. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in weight loss nutrition research and best practices.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) with a valid license in the state of RI and MA. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with patients in a weight loss program setting. Strong understanding of weight loss nutrition principles, macronutrients, and healthy eating patterns. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills. Ability to build rapport and trust with patients from diverse backgrounds. Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation software.
