Registered Dietician for Food as Medicine Program Food For All DC Washington, DC Job Details Contract From $50 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Chronic disease management Collaboration Community Health Working with individuals with chronic illnesses Working with individuals with specific medical conditions Organizational skills Working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds Dietetics Registered Dietitian Lifestyle modification strategies for chronic disease management One-on-one health counseling Full Job Description Job Overview Food For All (FFA) DC is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian (RD) to join its Food as Medicine (FAM) Wellness Circle, providing personalized nutrition counseling for older adult clients managing chronic health conditions. The RD will support clients through nutrition education, behavior change guidance, and wellness coaching while collaborating with FFA staff to deliver culturally responsive and client-centered care. This position will also have additional opportunities for professional growth, including contributing to program design, educational materials, and community health projects. Responsibilities Maintain a caseload of approximately 15-20 clients, providing initial consultations, follow-up visits, and counseling hours. Conduct initial nutrition assessments, including dietary habits, health conditions, food access, and wellness goals. Develop individualized nutrition recommendations for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Provide ongoing follow-up consultations via phone or video to monitor progress and support behavior change. Educate clients on healthy eating, meal planning, and sustainable lifestyle practices. Maintain clear documentation of client interactions, recommendations, and progress. Support program evaluation efforts and collaborate with FFA staff on client care and program development. Qualifications Registered Dietitian credential with current Washington, DC licensure. Experience in nutrition counseling and chronic disease management. Strong understanding of culturally responsive nutrition practices, social determinants of health, and food insecurity. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Commitment to compassionate, holistic, and client-centered care. Preferred Experience providing virtual nutrition counseling. Experience using Motivational Interviewing techniques to support behavior change. Experience in community-based or nonprofit settings. Familiarity with program evaluation. Bilingual in Spanish.
