Job Description
This Registered Dietitian Nutritionist position is for a contract (1099) position that is a hybrid position of in-person and virtual work. This dietitian reports to the Lead Dietitian and works closely with the owners and administrative services manager to provide the highest quality nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy for Lemond Nutrition - Myor Diagnostics in Plano, Texas. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using company established standards of care and practice protocols and guidelines; managing resources in a cost-effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice. This dietitian must have experience in pediatric MNT needs, pediatric ED experience is a plus. This position is part-time with potential to increase to full-time and a W-2 position. Basic Work Requirements 1. Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy. 2. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, medical partners one on one or in group settings. 3. Ability to function independently in assigned patient care settings, both in-person and virtual. 4.
Patient-centered care:
ability to counsel and educate others in an empathetic and non-judgmental way. 5. General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing and spreadsheet software. 6. Proficient in the English written and verbal language, but bi-lingual in any language would be a plus. 7. Follow all current company practices, philosophies and company mission and vision. 8. Patient/client assessments/reassessments must be completed within 48 business hours for clinical patients and within 4 working days for wellness patients; and faxed to patient physicians (as desired by referring physician and/or patient/patient's caregiver). 9. All administrative information including diagnosis codes, payments, insurance subscribers, addresses, and MD NPI numbers should be completed by the following business day. 10. Proficiency in monitoring claims, faxes, gathering information, audits, etc., and other duties as assigned. Required Experience A.
Work Experience:
Experience working directly with clinical pediatric needs for a minimum of 2 years. An advanced certification or degree (CSP, CEDS or M.A. in Counseling or LPC) is preferred, but not required. Expertise in working with the behavioral aspects of eating, and the ability to exemplify wellness in a non-diet, holistic approach for patients coming in with various food and nutrition goals. B. Registration/Licensure/Certification/Liability Insurance Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. CDR Professional portfolio, national and state continuing education units (CEUs) requirements all must be kept current; and is the responsibility of the employee. Licensed Dietitian through the state of New Hampshire and other states as requested. Maintains active professional liability insurance. C.
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition or related area, granted by a U.S. regionally accredited of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ASCEND).
