Ideal candidate will be a credentialed registered dietitian or Registered Dietitian Eligible, passionate about promoting health through nutrition, well versed with cultural cuisines, social media savvy, tech savvy and bilingual. This is a part-time (2-3 days per week), hybrid, 1099 Independent Contractor position based in Jersey City, NJ, with opportunities for professional growth as our practice continues to expand. Responsibilities will include but not limited to
- -Visit our partner facilities/outreach community programs throughout NJ (approximately three times per month) that include adult medical daycare programs, substance abuse recovery homes, group homes
- conduct on-site nutrition assessment and reassessment, maintain appropriate documentation to meet state standards, conduct group nutrition education and counseling, food service facility survey, in-service for food service staff.
- Help develop, launch, and lead new practice initiatives, including our Membership Program, Weight Management Support Group, community workshops, and other innovative nutrition and wellness programs.
- Create nutritional educational materials/handouts for the company.
- Lead and support new initiatives in the company pertaining to nutrition education.
- Oversee the practice's social media campaigns and help guide content themes and nutrition education topics across digital platforms.
- Conduct nutritional assessments and re-assessments in private practice setting, provide nutrition education and counseling to the clients as well as develop individualized meal plans based on patients' needs, provide dietary counseling and education to patients on healthy eating habits, monitor patients' progress and make adjustments to meal plans as needed. Qualifications & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required.
- Registered Dietitian Eligible (RDE) will be considered. Other Requirements
- Social media savvy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient counseling
- Proficiency in computer applications is a must.
- Must be good at time management and being able to work independently.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to community sites located throughout North and Central New Jersey.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
