Job Positions:
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in gastrointestinal conditions. Total hours flexible from 16-35 per week. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in cardiometabolic conditions. Total hours flexible from 16-35 per week. Both positions are outpatient counseling positions to see patients in our beautiful Longmont office and via telehealth. W2 employees.
General Summary of Duties:
This job is to be conducted in the Longmont office with the possibility of hybrid schedule of telehealth from home after training completed. Schedule flexibility available, but most appointments to be conducted Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm. Position #1
- Perform individual nutrition counseling for patients with gastro-intestinal conditions. Examples of common conditions include, but not limited to IBS, IBD, Celiac, GERD, gastroparesis, SIBO. Position #2
- Perform individual nutrition counseling for patients with mostly cardiometabolic conditions.
Examples include diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, weight control, kidney conditions, women's health. Educate clients on appropriate nutrition principles, dietary needs, food selections, and preparation. Ensure that all assessments, nutrition education and counseling are performed in accordance with standard professional practices, physician prescription/referral, medical diagnosis, or reason for visit. Communicate with the physicians and other healthcare providers as needed to ensure ongoing referrals and maintain an excellent reputation in the community. Required Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration Minimum of 1 year experience educating patients on medical nutrition therapy
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year experience working specifically in outpatient counseling Knowledge and experience in functional nutrition (or willingness to learn) Knowledge of diet supplementation and comfort in recommending appropriate products. Experience counseling both adults and teens (typically aged 15 and older). General knowledge of insurance billing. NPI (National Provider Identifier) and CAQH profile already established, already credentialed with some major insurance companies.
Essential Duties:
Perform initial assessments to evaluate food intake, emotional, social, and physiological status and how eating patterns are affected. Perform physical assessments including bioelectrical impedance (InBody scale) as appropriate. Provide nutrition education in appropriate language/vocabulary understandable by clients. Complete visit notes via EHR in a timely manner, systematically charting progress at each visit, specifying pertinent information such as, topics of discussion, plan of care, progress towards goals, nutrition instructions provided, medication changes, lab values, weight, ect. Prioritize client retention by maintaining a minimum of 4:1 ratio of follow-up visits to new patient appointments. Assist in reviewing and updating patient education materials and developing new materials as needed. Contribute to quarterly newsletters and social media postings as needed. Maintain work email by answering emails from clients, admin, and other team members in a timely fashion. Maintain client confidentiality and abide by HIPPA guidelines. Present friendly and professional attitude and work as team.
