Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments to evaluate clients' dietary habits, health status, and lifestyle factors. Develop tailored nutrition care plans that align with individual health needs and goals, incorporating current scientific research and best practices. Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to educate clients on proper nutrition, meal planning, portion control, and behavior change techniques. Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to coordinate patient care and ensure consistency in nutritional interventions. Monitor client progress through follow-up appointments, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes. Educate groups through workshops or community outreach programs on topics such as healthy eating, chronic disease prevention, and weight management. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, care plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from an accredited dietetics program and current licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in clinical nutrition, community health, or related settings is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential. Strong knowledge of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and behavior change strategies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and educate diverse populations effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation standards.
