Position Summary:
The Registered Dietitian (RD) delivers nutritioncation and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to a universitymunity, including students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on the collaborative management of eating disorders and provides MNT for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, and food allergies or intolerances, using a weight-neutral, Health at Every Size (HAES) approach. The RD also supports nutrition-related programming, including cooking demonstrations, classes, outreach initiatives, and health promotion activities. Additionally, the position contributes to training andcation for patients, staff, providers, interns, and peercators, and reports to the Director of Student Well-Being. Primary Job Duties Provides nutrition therapy to students, faculty, and staff, following guidelines set forth by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the SC Dept of Labor, Licensing and Regulation and USC Student Health Services. Plans, manages and evaluates medical nutrition therapy and nutritional services for college students in targeted, high-risk populations, including individuals with eating disorders. Works with Healthy Carolina to develop, implement and evaluatecational programs for students, faculty and staff to increase nutrition-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviors, including supporting demonstration kitchen efforts and leading cooking classes.

Required Certification, LicensureOther Credentials Licensed or license eligible as a dietitian in the state of South Carolina. Must obtain license within 6 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications Eligibility for registration to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Knowledge and experience in working in College Health with sports nutrition, eating disorders, clinical nutrition and chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, celiac, Crohn's, etc.) Commitment to a weight-neutral, HAES approach. KnowledgeSkillsAbilities Knowledge of the science and practice of human nutrition and standards of practice in dietetics. Knowledge of foodposition and major sources of nutrients. Knowledge of social, cultural and economic factors related to the nutritional status and dietary habits of individuals. Working knowledge of human behavior and techniques for the modification of eating habits. Strong facilitation and presentation skills. Intermediate desktop publishing, word processing and spreadsheet skills. Knowledge of best practices in collegiate health promotion and public health. Understanding of students' development issues, emerging needs and interests. Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff,munity agencies, and the general public. Ability to provide supportive counseling for students as appropriate. Ability to focus on clients throughout the day as most days will be spent in one on one consultations. Ability to manage time to aplish administrative and programmatic tasks in the patient flow. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Serves on collaborative teams within Student Health and Well-Being, including the Eating Disorder Consultation Team (EDCT), and in the Universitymunity to provide effective nutrition services. Provides nutrition resources and training for graduate assistants, health care teams and other professionals in the Universitymunity.
