The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with experience in assisted living settings. This role requires a passion for patient care, along with the ability to lead and manage dietary staff effectively while ensuring compliance with health regulations and dietary guidelines. Responsibilities Supervise the dietary department, ensuring high standards of food service and nutrition care are maintained. Conduct patient assessments to develop individualized care plans that meet nutritional needs. Oversee tube feeding procedures and ensure proper administration according to patient requirements. Perform diagnostic evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide health coaching and nutritional education to patients and staff. Manage budgeting for the dietary department, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining quality service. Lead and mentor dietary staff, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages professional development. Maintain knowledge of physiology and nutrition principles to guide dietary practices effectively. Qualifications Certification as a Dietary Manager is required; additional credentials in dietetics or nutrition preferred. Proven experience in assisted living or similar healthcare settings is highly desirable. Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and care plan development. Experience with tube feeding protocols and diagnostic evaluations is an asset. Demonstrated management skills, including budgeting and leadership experience within a dietary department. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of current dietary regulations and best practices in nutrition care.
