THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL JUNE 30, 2027
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides interdisciplinary clinical training in the management of nutritional problems of persons with developmental disabilities, as well as providing comprehensive and quality nutritional diagnostic and treatment services. This position maintains and implements current knowledge of federal, state, and local priorities aimed at improving the nutritional status of persons with developmental disabilities. Provides clinical nutrition services (evaluation, development of care plans, and follow-up for nutrition/feeding) for Center on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) clients with inborn errors of metabolism. Participates in interdisciplinary case staffing and informs parents/caretakers of team findings. Develops, revises, and evaluates clinical nutrition forms, tools, and counseling materials and methods. Coordinates client care with local and state agencies or other external professionals. Provides technical consultation in nutrition to CDD staff as well as local, regional, and national health professionals. Provides coverage of duties for nutrition department staff when necessary. Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of training programs in nutrition and inherited metabolic disorders and developmental disabilities. Targets populations for training to include: (1) trainees/fellows from all discipline programs; (2) dietetic interns, graduate students, and professionals in the CDD nutrition training program; (3) professionals of any discipline serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families through outreach/dissemination programs. Networks with other professionals, agencies, and programs or departments serving people with developmental disabilities or inherited metabolic disorders, regarding nutritional care, training, and research. Attends and participates in scheduled meetings at the CDD, including staff meetings, developmental meetings, team meetings, and interdisciplinary teaching conferences. Maintains records of training and clinical service activities for reporting to funding agencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science or Public Health Nutrition or similar health-related field. (Master's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT

EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience in clinical dietetics, public health nutrition, or related agency.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Registered Dietician and Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist in Tennessee. (COPY

)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use or easily learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online nutrition analysis programs, electronic databases, and/or distance communication devices. Patient and family-centered counseling skills. Research/grant proposal and development skills.
