Project a positive public image through professional conduct and communication while maintaining confidentiality where appropriate.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Develop menus for all residents assessing preference and nutritional needs Visit residents at time of admission to gather information on diet history, food preferences, and other relevant data. Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive Provide food census for cooks and demonstrate knowledge of and ensure food preparation and serving compliance according to state and federal standards. Act as a liaison between dietary and nursing staff and interact with other disciplines involved in providing community of care for all residents. Practice standard safety precautions and infection control services. Monitor dietary services to ensure all residents' dietary needs are being net. Make weekly inspections of all dietary functions to ensure the quality control measures are continually met. Have full knowledge of residents' rights and ensure that dietary staff comply with residents' rights. Assist with inventory Ensure staff education is provided to dietary personnel in accordance with staff education plan. Attend in-service training and education as needed Perform other work duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Registered Dieticians required.
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates.
Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service and understand requests.
