Summary:
Provide competent nutritional information to patients and be an active participant in the interdisciplinary teams. Responsible for providing nutritional care to patients through nutritional monitoring, assessment, calculations, recommendations and education. Ensure patients, families, hospital staff, and the community receives optimal nutritional information based on current research and practice. Provides training for interns.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide nutritional monitoring, assessment, calculations, recommendations, and education for patients and serve as a nutrition resource for the hospital, staff, patients, families, and the community. May write nutrition orders per medical nutrition therapy protocol. At Our Children's House only, may write TPN and lab orders per medical nutrition therapy protocol.
  • Provide clear, effective, and professional communication to patients and family, staff, and community.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as patient and non patient related phone calls and e-mails, ongoing required competencies, etc.
  • Attend various meeting, committee involvement, contribute to projects and give presentations.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least 1 year job category-specific experience Preferred
  • At least 1 year For End Stage Renal Disease only: minimum 1 year professional work experience in clinical dietetics after becoming a registered dietitian.
(Does not include internship experience) Required
EDUCATION
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • State Dietetic License (i.e. LD - Licensed Dietitian) 90 Days Required
  • National Dietetic Registration (i.e. RD - Registered Dietitian) 90 Days Required
