Description StarCare Specialty Health Systems is in search of a Dietary Manager for Sunrise Canyon Hospital. Sunrise Canyon Hospital is a 30-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital that provides quality inpatient mental healthcare to patients when they need it. This position works under the direct supervision of the Associate Hospital Administrator and has broad latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
Ability to manage and supervise Dietary functions of the Dietary Department. Provide oversite in preparation of nutritious meals. Ability to develop nutritional care plans and follow up. Knowledge of food handling/sanitation practices and quality food preparation/cooking/baking. Knowledge of the methods of preparing modified and calculated diets. Ability to develop and maintain record keeping in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Knowledge of appropriate rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to organize, prioritize a variety of assignments and manage time effectively. Communicate information to staff and leadership as needed. This position ensures all activities support the mission, values, and goals of StarCare. This position impacts outcomes for people by supporting direct service staff and the management of an accessible system of quality, effective, efficient services and resources that support individual choice and promote lives of dignity and self-determination.
Schedule:
This is a full-time/exempt position scheduled Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent with five (5) year's experience of food management and Completion of Dietary Supervisor/Managers course certified by the Dietary Managers Association or State of Texas will satisfy the minimum qualifications for food service requirement. Preferred qualifications include Licensed as a Dietitian (LD). Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major in dietetics, food, and nutrition or related field, and Registration with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, RD or RDN.
Skills & Abilities:
Experience with psychiatric patient population preferred. Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, copier, fax, etc.) and computers with Microsoft Office products required. Ability to organize, prioritize a variety of assignments and manage time effectively.
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check. Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
