Nutrition Education ManagerJOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Purpose To assist the Dietician/Nutrition Education Coordinator in developing and implementing a comprehensive nutrition education program.RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities and Duties Plan, develop and implement nutrition education program for a diverse population. Collaborate with campuses to extend program reach. Assist with Farm to School. Assist with Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Deliver presentations, workshops and outreach activities to promote the Child Nutrition program. Asist with marketing material. Conduct food surveys at the campus. Assist in creating and updating continuing education material. Develop and maintain visual content of menu. Complete 6 hours of professional development hours for USDA and district requirement. Update nutrition education materials in kitchens. Attendance at work is an essential function. Other duties assigned by the Child Nutrition Director or designee. Support and promote the school district vision, mission, and objectives Communicate effectively with all school district personnelEXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
High School diploma or G.E.D with a strong understanding of the child nutrition program, food management, nutrition, training, with an emphasis on nutrition education or equivalent experience in a related field Valid Texas driver's license Eligible for coverage under the district's vehicle insurance programSpecial Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of all Federal and State school lunch and breakfast regulation Ability to read and understand instructions for food preparation and safety procedures Possess people management and motivation skills Ability to train large groups Bilingual Preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and PublisherOTHER INFORMATION
Equipment Used Computer for specialized data entry, word processing and spreadsheet applications; printer, typewriter, copy machine and calculator.Working Conditions Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over), pushing (intermittent), reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking (intermittent), standing (intermittent), specific visual requirements, using computer and reading small print.
