Job Description

Position Overview AllShifts is seeking a licensed Dietician to provide comprehensive nutrition care to individuals served throughout Vernon State Hospital. The Dietician assesses nutritional needs, develops individualized nutrition plans, monitors dietary progress, and educates patients and families on maintaining balanced diets to support overall health and wellness. This role requires strong clinical expertise, collaboration, and effective communication with interdisciplinary treatment teams.

8hr (8a - 5p) M-F Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition care and assessments for individuals served throughout the facility
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans to improve health and physical condition
  • Analyze patients' health status, dietary restrictions, goals, and nutritional intake
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition recommendations as needed
  • Educate patients and families on balanced diets and healthy nutrition practices
  • Consult with patients, families, physicians, and treatment teams regarding nutritional needs
  • Document nutrition-related recommendations in the medical record
  • Approve patient menus and coordinate dietary information with the Food Service Director Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics and/or Nutrition from an accredited college or university
  • Registered Dietician (RD) credential through the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Dietician
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with physicians, staff, patients, and families
Pay:
$1,600.00 per week
