The purpose of this position is to provide professional and administrative support in the planning and conducting of public health nutrition services and programs. This is accomplished by completing annual plans, ensuring agency and staff compliance, providing staff training, counseling clients, approving special formulas, completing annual breastfeeding promotion plans, and ensuring compliance. Other duties include ordering and stocking all materials and documents, designing educational materials, working with area agencies that will provide additional education, and facilitating classes as needed.

Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice 2 S Completes the annual nutrition education plan by scheduling classes for the plan year, facilitating staff training, ensuring materials are available, monitoring plan compliance and notifying the state of any plan changes. 3 S Provides nutrition counseling to high risk clients by establishing staff recommendations for high risk determinations, ensuring visuals are available, attending continuing education activities and training sessions, and maintaining documentation on counseling sessions. 4 L Facilitates classes by ensuring supplies and equipment are adequate, adhering to lesson plans, answering questions and responding to inquiries, planning cooking classes, and printing recipes. 5 S Approves the issuance of special formulas by reviewing client records, following state policies, retaining all documents, reviewing records on a regular basis to ensure compliance, and submitting information for approval.
