April 23, 2026 Job Overview Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Clinical Dietitian. This is a Flexi Day shift position. Responsible for identification, diagnosis, and prevention of malnutrition in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards to include nutrition focused physical exams. Attends multidisciplinary rounds, participates in performance improvement and serves as a resource for nutrition related matters for patients, families, members of the medical staff and multidisciplinary team. Performs comprehensive nutrition assessment within department approved time frames and documentation within department time frames. Performs nutrition focused physical exam when appropriate.

Performs malnutrition diagnosis in accordance with
ASPEN/AND
criteria and documents accordingly in EMR. Follow-up per department policy time frames. Participates in multidisciplinary patient focused meetings including MDRs, ICU rounds. Meets expectations by providing evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams in direct patient care. Patient/family and staff education. BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Registered Dietitian (RD) should be obtained within 6 months of hire. Verification statements required for those candidates awaiting RD credentialing. If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
Education:
Bachelors Degree (Required) If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
Certification/Licensure:
BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Registered Dietitian (RD) should be obtained within 6 months of hire. Verification statements required for those candidates awaiting RD credentialing.
