This position will work in a local WIC office in Spokane, has a dedicated schedule of Mon-Wed 7am-5pm and Thu 7am-4:30pm, and has a base range of $23.44-$29.93 per hour, depending on experience.

Tuition reimbursement Competitive medical benefits Career growth and development planning And much more… What you'll be doing What you'll be doing: This position performs para-professional duties for the Spokane Regional Health District's Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program such as, interviews clients to assess nutritional needs, takes anthropometric measurements and determines eligibility for participation and counsels and educates about growth and nutrition, breastfeeding, and farmers' market. Prioritizes medical and nutritional information and prepares follow-up plan with appropriate referrals to WIC registered dietitians and/or other community-based resources. Performs clerical functions to coordinate flow of participants in clinic, recordkeeping, troubleshooting office equipment problems and counter service functions. Duties are assigned by scheduling needs and may vary.Some Essential Functions Include:
Provides participant centered counseling for individual nutritional interventions. Completes nutrition assessment to identify and assign risks. Promotes breastfeeding and provides support and education. Assists in creating and following up on individual and family nutrition goals. Performs participant functions in WIC computer software: presume eligible, prescreen, transfer in, transfer out, reinstate, terminate, certifications. High School Graduate or GED Two years of experience, with limited task supervision, emphasizing or including intensive public contact, customer service, interpretation and explanation of regulations and involving general office work processes and use of office technology. Satisfactory completion of Washington WIC Competent Professional Authority training program within four months of hire date. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered provided the individual's background demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.
