  • Full-time The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.
The ADON helps ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained for residents while supporting staff, promoting teamwork, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily operations of the nursing department. Ensure high-quality resident care is delivered in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Support and guide nursing staff in clinical decision-making and problem resolution. Monitor resident care to ensure needs are met and care plans are followed. Participate in clinical rounds and address resident or family concerns. Staff Management Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating nursing staff. Provide coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary action when necessary. Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained. Support staff development and continuing education. Regulatory Compliance Assist with ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Participate in facility surveys and regulatory inspections. Monitor documentation and clinical practices to ensure compliance with standards of care. Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures. Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Monitor incident reports, infections, and other clinical indicators. Implement corrective actions and process improvements as needed. Resident and Family Relations Promote a culture of compassion, dignity, and respect for all residents. Administrative Duties Assist in managing departmental budgets and resources. Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings. Help coordinate staff schedules and coverage when needed. Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the absence of the DON. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of employment. Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing . Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Work Schedule Typically Monday through Friday , with on-call rotation as required to support nursing operations.
