Job Description

Director of Nursing (DON) Are you a skilled and compassionate nursing leader ready to make a meaningful impact in long-term care? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department at a long-term care and rehabilitation center at TLC Nursing Center. This is a unique opportunity to join a team committed to providing exceptional care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance patient safety. Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices. Mentor, guide, and support nursing staff to foster professional growth and development. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate patient care and optimize health outcomes. Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage nursing schedules to meet patient care needs. Participate in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff training initiatives. Serve as a liaison between staff, residents, and families to facilitate communication and resolve concerns effectively.
Qualifications:
Active RN license in good standing. Proven experience in nursing leadership, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and clinical best practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for mentoring and team development. Ability to lead by example and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
