Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a positive, collaborative environment for nursing staff. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in nursing management, a passion for resident-centered care, and a strong understanding of various healthcare settings including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care environments. As a leader in our organization, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, manage staffing and resources effectively, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality care aligned with resident needs and organizational goals. Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and reflect current medical conditions. Oversee documentation review processes including medical records, care documentation, MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage shift scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels across all shifts while optimizing resource utilization. Maintain proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care plans that incorporate physiology and anatomy knowledge for optimal health outcomes. Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and other federal/state healthcare guidelines while managing documentation for audits and inspections. Supervise nurse management staff, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to foster professional growth. Monitor quality metrics related to resident safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes; implement continuous improvement strategies accordingly. Uphold all safety protocols including HIPAA privacy standards and medical terminology accuracy in documentation. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services or hospice care with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Extensive nursing management or supervising experience within acute care or long-term care settings. Strong knowledge of MDS processes, Medicare regulations, medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to geriatric or chronic illness populations. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems along with a solid understanding of medical records management and documentation review procedures. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively while fostering teamwork among nursing staff. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and best practices for safeguarding patient information. Excellent communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage residents' families effectively. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher required; current RN licensure in good standing is essential. Join us as we provide compassionate care that enriches lives!
