Position Summary:
Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Clinical/Nursing Services Department to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
Valid California RN license, in good standing, current CPR and BLS certifications College/University degree preferred, five (5) years' experience may substitute for degree Minimum, three (3) years' experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing, preferred Minimum six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care industry Develops, maintains, and periodically updates written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department Evaluates department process making recommendations and implementing compliance and quality improvement policies, programs and procedures Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills Leads by example, working alongside staff members and treating them kindly and professionally at all times and in all circumstances Ensures all clinical/nursing personnel comply with established standards Maintains and improves as needed the quality of patient care and standards of care Interviews, hires, trains and manages employees Plans, assigns, and directs work, conducts reviews, delivering discipline and or rewards Addresses patient, family and employee complaints, documenting issues, solutions and resolving problems Coordinates care services, and the implementation of care plans ensuring the best quality of life possible and for all patients/residents Conducts quality assessments including regulatory compliance rounds, in all departments to monitor performance and continuously improve systems, processes and quality Develops staffing plans that assure direct care needs are met, recommending quantity and types of personnel necessary to maintain compliance with all requirements, and PPD Maintains reference database or other training materials (i.e., PDR'S, Regulations, Standards of Practice, etc.) to assist the department in understanding compliance requirements and empowering them to meeting the day-to-day needs of the residents Audits clinical records for accuracy and completeness of comprehensive resident assessments, effective documentation reflecting resident responses to interventions and consistent implementation of plans of care by all staff and professionals, on all shifts Leads/Participates in various company meetings and interdisciplinary conferences as needed to develop adequate plans of care
