Director of Nursing Providence Healthcare Group Beverly Hills, CA Job Details Full-time $120,000 - $150,000 a year 2 days ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications Operations management RN License Bachelor of Science BLS Certification Bachelor of Science in Nursing Bachelor's degree in nursing Training & development Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience (with at least 2 years in a leadership role in an ambulatory surgery setting, strongly preferred) to lead the clinical operations of our ambulatory surgery center. This is a high-responsibility leadership role for a nurse who takes ownership, maintains high standards, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The DON will be responsible for establishing clinical systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining operational excellence, and leading a team of nurses and clinical staff to deliver outstanding patient care. The DON will work closely with surgeons and leadership to ensure the center runs efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Management Recruit, train, and manage nursing and clinical staff Create and manage clinical staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage Establish and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure operational efficiency and patient safety Conduct employee skills evaluations within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter Provide leadership during inspections and accreditation Oversee electronic medical record systems and assist physicians and staff with implementation, training, and troubleshooting Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, surgeons, and administrative leadership Maintain accountability and high standards of professionalism within the clinical team Patient Care Oversight Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, emphasizing safety, comfort, and patient satisfaction Oversee all phases of patient care including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing practices Monitor patient outcomes and lead quality improvement initiatives Participate in clinical care when needed, including circulating, pre-op, and PACU responsibilities Compliance and Quality Assurance Create and maintain surgical charts and ensure accurate and timely completion Review and verify patient consent forms for accuracy and compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including
OSHA, HIPAA
Develop and maintain infection control policies and procedures Lead the preparation and maintenance of documentation for accreditation surveys and regulatory audits Operations and Budgeting Manage and coordinate the operating room schedule to maximize efficiency Collaborate with leadership on budgets and staffing Oversee inventory management for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals Participate in the development and execution of the surgery center's strategic initiatives Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of California Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Current BLS and ACLS certification Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in an ambulatory surgery setting, strongly preferred Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Comfortable working in a paperless, technology-driven setting Why Join Us?
