The Director of Staff Development (DSD) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering training and education programs for all facility staff. This role ensures that nursing and other team members are competent, compliant with State and Federal regulations, and equipped to provide high-quality resident care. The DSD also oversees CNA care across the facility to ensure Certified Nursing Assistants deliver safe, consistent, and resident-centered care.
Pay:
$95,680.00 - $101,920.00 per year Active RN or
LVN/ LPN
license is required Must have 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience required in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility
Duties:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility. Assists the Assistant Director of Nursing Services in managing and directing the Nursing Services Department. Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary. Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility. Provide a quality in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
Qualifications:
Active RN or
LVN/ LPN
license is required. Must have 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
