Director of Nursing (DON) New Mexico - Relocation provided. Peaks Healthcare is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our dedicated nursing department. Position Overview:
As Director of Nursing, you'll oversee the clinical operations of our skilled nursing facility while playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our nursing staff. You'll work closely with three Nurse Managers and an engaged administrative team, providing mentorship and guidance to both seasoned professionals and newly licensed nurses. Key Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility Ensure the highest quality of care is provided to residents at all times Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and nursing protocols in accordance with regulations Collaborate with the Staff Development Coordinator to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of staff education, training, and competency development programs Inspire and mentor nursing staff through active engagement, coaching, and professional development Foster strong collaboration with medical providers, interdisciplinary teams, and families to ensure exceptional care coordination Drive a culture of accountability, compassion, innovation, and ethical excellence Lead with a growth mindset—embracing feedback, celebrating successes, and modeling curiosity and adaptability
What We're Looking For:
Active RN license in the state of New Mexico (or eligibility for licensure) 3+ years of nursing experience in long-term care or rehabilitation preferred. (Leadership is a plus) Enthusiastic leadership style with a desire to support and develop new nurses Confidence in leading training, facilitating learning, and building team culture Strong communication and organizational skills with a heart for service A mindset focused on growth, inclusion, and innovation A commitment to ethical decision-making and continuous improvement Why Join Peaks?
