  • Full-time Director of Education Mozaic Senior Life General Description The Director of Education directs and designs curriculum to train and update skills and knowledge of nursing staff.
Directs and organizes nurse educators to meet the educational needs of the nursing staff. Evaluates the department's performance and ensures that all federal and state regulatory requirements are met. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, participates in the development of Standards for Professional Nursing Practice and continual quality improvement. Establish and promotes policies and procedures which promote quality patient care.
Full-time:
Days 40 hrs. exempt
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops department goals and objectives. Develops training programs to meet organization training and regulatory needs. Consults to all departments regarding their educational needs. Coordinates hospital-operated schools and allied health education affiliated programs. Maintains training records and competency skills and competency programs. Coordinates classroom/meeting room facilities and instructional aids. Participates in various committees and meetings as required. Attends in services on professional organization as hospital representative in educational matters. Develops and maintains a database of education/training information. Plans, organizes, directs and supervises nursing and house wide educational service/programs and formulates policies and practices. Develops community programs. Develops various reports for managements' review. Develops and recommends department budget and ensures department operates within budget.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Master's Degree (preferred) Experience Sufficient previous teaching/training experience in an educational or health care institution Licensure RN, State of Connecticut (required) •
Required Supervision:
Must work 1 weekend day per month and part of the on the On-Call rotation typically 1 weekend per quarter. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to utilize various software packages to carryout position responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership and educational skills.
