Life Insurance Coverage Position Overview:
Monsignor Bojnowski Manor Monsignor Bojnowski Manor is seeking a dedicated and experienced MDS Director to join our leadership team. The MDS Director will oversee the Minimum Data Set (MDS) program to ensure accurate assessments, regulatory compliance, quality resident care planning, and appropriate clinical reimbursement. This position plays a critical leadership role in supporting resident outcomes, interdisciplinary collaboration, reimbursement optimization, and regulatory compliance within our five-star skilled nursing facility.
What You'll Do:
As the MDS Director, you will manage the MDS assessment process necessary for developing individualized resident care plans and capturing appropriate clinical reimbursement for services provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the MDS program, ensuring compliance and accuracy in assessments Determine Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) opportunities and associated expenses for potential admissions Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores and identify trends, risks, or changes affecting reimbursement Coordinate and participate in comprehensive resident assessments and care planning Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate data collection and documentation Provide ongoing education, support, and guidance to staff and facility leadership Track, trend, and analyze assessment data to confirm compliance and identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing MDS completion and coding Support a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and high-quality resident-centered care May train, mentor, and oversee MDS Coordinators as needed
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications:
Valid RN license preferred Advanced degree or certification preferred Direct care experience in long-term care and/or prior MDS Coordinator experience required Strong understanding of MDS 3.0, PDPM, Medicaid, Medicare, and reimbursement processes Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing documentation and billing Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care
