Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations within a well-established long-term care facility in Northern Connecticut. This is a confidential search for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality resident care, building engaged teams, and maintaining regulatory excellence. Position Summary The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of nursing services within the facility. This role ensures the delivery of safe, effective, and resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management Ensure compliance with all Connecticut Department of Public Health and federal regulations Oversee clinical operations, including care planning, infection control, quality assurance, and risk management Lead and support survey readiness and participate in state surveys as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes and overall quality of care Monitor and manage clinical budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, compassion, and excellence Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, survey process, and compliance standards Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits Supportive leadership environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on resident care and team development
