Job Description

Encore Wilmington is hiring a Director of Nursing DON for our skilled residents.
DESCRIPTION
The Director of Nursing administers all aspects of the Skilled Nursing program inclusive of resident service levels, family communication, and staffing needs. Is responsible for all accrediting or licensing requirements in regards to the Skilled Nursing program. Works interdepartmentally to ensure quality service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees all aspects of Skilled Nursing, including the assessment process and management thru the continuum. Coordinates interdepartmental functions, to ensure quality services are provided to appropriately meet Skilled Nursing residents' needs and achieves a high level of resident and family satisfaction. Ensures compliance with all accrediting, licensing and regulatory requirements. Develops budget and administers Skilled Nursing program within the established parameters. Plans for and assists in marketing Skilled Nursing, both internally and externally. Communicates effectively with all constituencies including residents, campus, staff, families, physicians, partners, vendors, etc. Establishes and adheres to criteria for levels of service within Skilled Nursing and assists in coordination of resident movement throughout our continuum of care. Actively participates in, and oversees, employee recruitment and retention efforts, including the interviewing process, orientation and training, scheduling, performance review process, identification of growth opportunities, development of a cohesive team and administration of rewards and disciplinary action to ensure staffing needs are attained and growth needs are addressed. Identifies and develops goals to enhance resident services, meet community needs and improve resident, family and employee satisfaction. Ensures delivery of Skilled Nursing resident services inclusive of Home Health to meet assessed needs at appropriate level of service. Facilitates and/or participates in meetings to further in our campus needs as appropriate (i.e., Resident Review, Task Teams, etc.). Explores further educational and training opportunities and/or certifications to enhance personal and staff's abilities to excel in Skilled Nursing services. Assists in partnering possibilities as we discover options. Serves as an integral support leader on the Resident Development Team. Other duties as assigned.

Range of Motion:
Frequently being able to move from waist to shoulder and above.
Weight Lifting Requirements:
Occasionally being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Vision Requirements:
Frequently being able to look at the computer monitor.
Environmental Exposure:
Being exposed to body fluids and blood.
QUALIFCIATIONS/REQURIEMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required Current RN Licensure with the
State of Delaware Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years clinical/administrative experience. Minimum 3 years experience working in Skilled Nursing required. Experience with multi-disciplinary assessment, planning, development, and implementation of innovative programs, listening with follow-through, and a solid educator/trainer.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Able to balance and prioritize multiple projects. Detail oriented. Demonstrated ability to locate and utilize appropriate resources both within and outside the community. Must display strong skills in planning, organizing, time management, initiative, judgment, critical thinking and related competencies. Strong interpersonal and administrative skills. A good start up background and systems development skills.
