Job Description

Director of Nursing - Pediatric PPEC (Clermont, FL) About Us Little Miracles Medical Daycare is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center in Clermont, Florida, dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to medically fragile children. We offer a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children with complex medical needs can thrive. We are building a collaborative, family-centered care team focused on excellence in pediatric nursing and meaningful impact for the families we serve. We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to serve as the clinical nursing leader for our center in accordance with AHCA licensing requirements. Position Overview This is a hands-on pediatric clinical leadership role focused on direct patient care oversight, nursing coordination, and staff support within a PPEC setting. The Director of Nursing will lead clinical operations and ensure high-quality nursing care for medically fragile children. Administrative systems, staffing infrastructure, and regulatory documentation processes are supported centrally, allowing the DON to focus on patient care, clinical leadership, and team development. This is a great opportunity for a pediatric nurse leader who wants to step into a DON role—prior DON experience is not required. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership for daily nursing operations in a pediatric PPEC setting Oversee and support direct care nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care Manage and review individualized pediatric care plans and ensure appropriate updates Oversee MARs and ensure accurate medication administration documentation Support clinical documentation quality and compliance with healthcare standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient outcomes Promote a safe, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate care environment Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to nursing staff Required Qualifications Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license Current CPR certification Minimum of 2 years pediatric nursing experience Experience with medically fragile children (NICU, PICU, PPEC, pediatric home health, or similar setting) Strong clinical judgment and ability to lead or support nursing staff Experience with care plans, documentation, and medication administration processes Preferred Qualifications Charge nurse, nurse supervisor, nurse manager, or clinical leadership experience Experience in pediatric home health, outpatient pediatrics, NICU, or PICU Familiarity with medically complex or technology-dependent pediatric patients Strong communication and team leadership skills Important Note Prior Director of Nursing experience is not required. Candidates with strong pediatric nursing experience and leadership potential are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a licensed DON role required for PPEC operations under AHCA regulations, with significant focus on pediatric clinical care and team leadership.
