As the Director of Nursing, you will play a key and pivotal role in overseeing and managing the clinical operations of our home care agency. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing leadership, engagement, training and education, guidance, and support to the field staff and clinical nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Managing and coordinating the recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified nursing professionals (RN/LPN). Conducting regular performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, performance improvement plans, and providing coaching and mentoring to enhance staff performance. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Monitoring and analyzing patient outcomes and quality indicators to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care, adhering to legal and ethical standards. Participating in the development and management of the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Promoting and building a culture of continuous learning and professional development among the nursing and field staff. Sets and reinforces the culture and performance expectations for all field staff (HHA, CNA, LPN, RN), ensuring alignment with company core values, standards for quality, professionalism, and patient care. Building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, referral partners, and other healthcare professionals. Oversees Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) with the maintenance of client clinical records, statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities. Plans and implements nursing and field staff orientation, in-services, field staff annual competencies and ongoing training programs. Provides care as defined within the scope of the state's nurse practice act. Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Responsible for overseeing training and compliance with EMR software. Supervises, educates and coaches other nursing personnel and field (HHA/CNA) staff. Ensures compliance with state regulations, Joint Commission and BrightStar Care standards. Instills and reinforces a "Yes" culture by setting the expectation that the team actively embraces opportunities that contribute to growth, quality outcomes, and operational success. The Director of Nursing must lead and actively build a culture focused on exceptional quality and customer service. This includes coaching and developing staff, reinforcing service standards, and holding both clinical and caregiving teams accountable to delivering A Higher Standard of Care with the focus on an outstanding client experience at all times. Responsible for ensuring Nursing competency and completing initial visits with new onboarding Nursing staff out in the field. Establishes good working relationships with office team, referral and staffing partners, and continually asks for referrals. The Director of Nursing will actively create and drive opportunities for growth by utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring measurable success for both themselves and the organization. In addition to administrative and leadership responsibilities, the Director of Nursing will also be responsible for completing in-home nursing visits, including patient intake visits, assessments and supervisory visits, and clinical evaluations as needed as well as high-tech infusion visits. Qualifications:
To be considered for the position of Director of Nursing, you should possess the following qualifications: 1. A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida. 2. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or a Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is preferred. 3. Proven experience in nursing leadership or management, preferably in a home health or similar setting (Medicare, Medicaid, and/or private-duty). 4. In-depth knowledge of AHCA home health regulations, TJC accreditation standards, and best practices. 5. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 6. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. 7. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software. 8. Valid Driver's License and auto insurance, and reliable transportation. 9. Valid and current CPR certification.
