1611 NW 12 Ave, Miami, FL 33160 Leadership Oversight Jackson Health System is seeking a transformational and dynamic operational nursing executive to serve as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for the Jackson Memorial Medical Center, home to Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH)—with more than 1,550 licensed beds, JMH is both a referral center and a magnet for medical research. This tertiary acute-care flagship facility is the principal teaching hospital for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with more than 25,000 admissions, 15,000 observation cases, 16,000 surgeries, 100,000 adult emergency visits, and 4,200 trauma visits annually. This executive role also provides leadership and oversight for the nationally acclaimed Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center, ranked #28 out of 1,049 hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and recognized among the top 3% of rehabilitation hospitals in the country, as well as Holtz Children's Hospital—ranked among the Top 10 children's hospitals in Florida—and The Women's Hospital, the only academic medical center in South Florida offering comprehensive high-risk pregnancy and high-risk neonatal care under one roof. Scope and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Jackson Memorial Medical Center SVP and CEO, with a matrix relationship to the SVP and Chief Nursing Executive, the VP and CNO provides decisive strategic and operational leadership to advance exceptional patient care across the medical center. Grounded in High Reliability Organization principles, this executive drives a culture of excellence, elevating quality, safety, patient experience, and continuous improvement through evidence-based practice and strong clinical and operational partnerships. The VP and CNO sets the vision for nursing, strengthens professional practice, and ensures superior patient and family-centered outcomes, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and effective medical staff collaboration. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP and CNO steadfastly upholds Jackson Health's Values and advocate strong commitment to the organization's Mission, and Vision to providing world-class, accessible care to every resident of Miami-Dade County and achieving excellence as a nationally recognized, patient-centered academic health system. Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a master's degree, with a doctorate strongly preferred, and brings distinguished executive nursing leadership experience within complex, safety net or academic health systems serving diverse and underserved populations. They have successfully led a major academic medical center or a multi site hospital enterprise, demonstrating the strategic and operational acumen required to guide large scale, high acuity environments. This nursing executive has a proven record of driving quality outcomes, reducing length of stay, with demonstrated success in achieving or sustaining Magnet designation. They excel in communication and emotional intelligence, demonstrate a deep commitment to caring for vulnerable communities, and foster an exceptional learning and professional practice environment for nurses and all team members.
