Director of Nursing

Director of Nursing Full-Time The Vista at Hammock Cove is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Director of Nursing to lead the daily operations of our Resident Services Department within our Assisted Living community. This leadership role is responsible for supporting quality resident care, staff accountability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced senior living environment and is committed to creating a positive experience for residents, families, and staff. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management Oversee and support Resident Services staff including caregivers and med techs Manage staffing schedules, attendance, and daily staffing needs Conduct coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, and staff development Ensure all staff maintain required certifications, training, and compliance standards Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and strong customer service throughout the department Resident Care Oversight Oversee day-to-day resident care operations to ensure quality services are provided in accordance with resident needs and care plans Monitor resident wellbeing, behavior changes, incidents, and service concerns Assist with resident assessments, move-ins, transitions, and family communication Collaborate with nursing providers, hospice agencies, physicians, and interdisciplinary departments Compliance & Operations Ensure compliance with Florida AHCA regulations, infection control standards, resident rights, and facility policies Maintain survey readiness and assist with corrective action initiatives Monitor documentation accuracy and department compliance Participate in incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and safety initiatives Support department goals related to resident satisfaction, staffing stability, and operational efficiency Qualifications Previous leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Senior Living preferred Knowledge of Florida ALF regulations and AHCA compliance preferred Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment CPR Certification required or ability to obtain within required timeframe Experience with electronic health records and scheduling systems preferred What We're Looking For ✔ Strong leadership and team management skills ✔ Compassionate and resident-centered approach ✔ Organized and solutions-driven mindset ✔ Ability to manage daily operations effectively ✔ Compliance-focused with attention to detail ✔ Professional communication with residents, families, and staff Benefits Competitive Salary Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Leadership Development Opportunities Supportive Work Environment Apply Today If you are passionate about senior care leadership and are ready to make a positive impact within an Assisted Living community, we encourage you to apply today and become part of the team at The Vista at Hammock Cove.
