Job Description

Director of Nursing - Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Nursing to lead and oversee all nursing operations. This leader will drive clinical excellence, ensure high-quality patient care, and foster a collaborative, innovative, and compassionate environment. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic insight, regulatory expertise, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance nursing services and improve patient outcomes Provide clinical oversight for all skilled nursing services in accordance with state and federal regulations Lead and support nursing staff, promoting a positive, team-oriented culture Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement patient-centered care models Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies Oversee accurate and timely documentation, care planning, and coordination with physicians and care teams Conduct supervisory visits, competency evaluations, and performance coaching for nursing staff Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvements based on data analysis Quality Assurance & Improvement Lead quality assurance initiatives including chart audits, incident reviews, and compliance monitoring Participate in case conferences, leadership meetings, and staff engagement activities Drive continuous improvement efforts to maintain excellence in patient care and safety Staff Development & Workforce Management Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical staff Coordinate training programs and ongoing education to maintain high clinical standards Mentor staff and foster professional growth and leadership development Qualifications & Experience Proven leadership experience in healthcare management (home health, hospital, or academic setting preferred) Strong background in nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and quality assurance Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and driving organizational goals Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and operational oversight Teaching, curriculum development, or higher education administration experience is a plus Key Competencies Strategic thinking and decision-making Clinical excellence and regulatory expertise Strong leadership and team-building skills Effective communication and collaboration Commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate care What We Offer Opportunity to shape the future of nursing care delivery Leadership role with meaningful organizational impact Collaborative and mission-driven work environment
